  • Overview

    The Public Relations Specialist coordinates and executes PR strategies for Viverae® as a means of growing visibility, interaction, and awareness of the brand. This position develops and coordinates PR, media relations, award strategies and submissions, and digital media activities for the organization including creating and submitting award packages, writing press releases, speeches, and articles, pitching news stories and sharing content via traditional, social, and digital media sources. The Public Relations Specialist will establish and maintain good-natured, cooperative relationships with local and national news media within, but not limited to, the healthcare, technology, wellness, and benefits space, and maintains a media database. Additionally, the PR Specialist is responsible for the facilitation and management of monthly Company Connections. Works collaboratively with various stakeholders in the organization including but not limited to, Marketing, Executive Management, Product & Innovation, Sales IS, and Client Services.


    • Develops and coordinates placement of proactive messages about Viverae in national, local, and trade media (print, television and electronic)
    • Coordinates and develops all content for proactive public relations campaigns. Is responsible for pitching story ideas on behalf of Viverae to traditional media outlets, as well as sharing those stories and content with Viverae stakeholders via digital and social channels
    • Develops meaningful, dependable relationships with national and local media as well as national and local bloggers, positioning Viverae as a thought leader in the workplace wellness space
    • Establishes and implements departmental processes to generate a steady volume of press releases and promote messaging within the appropriate media channels
    • Keeps track of media coverage and wellness news and develops reports for VP of Marketing
    • Maintains online editorial calendar and integrates tactics with other communications and marketing initiatives
    • Writes talking points for Viverae executives as needed
    • Provides media training for Viverae executives as needed
    • Facilitates and executes the monthly Company Connection, including but not limited to: speaker prep, deck development, and collaboration with IS for all technology needs
    • Assists with research and related projects as needed. Supports overall marketing team as needed
    • Assists with various copywriting assignments including award applications, email marketing campaigns and all copy intended for website or other online channels
    • Performs any other duties as required or assigned


    • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
    • Minimum 5 years of relevant PR experience
    • Day-to-day experience in applying the principles and practices of strategic public relations/media relations consultation, planning, and execution
    • Day-to-day experience in applying the principles and practices of internal communications planning and execution
    • Experience in and excellent track record of pitching national and local media, and securing placements
    • Extreme attention to detail and professionalism
    • A resourceful self-starter with a strong collaborative work ethic and initiative
    • Ability to work under pressure on multiple, time-sensitive, deadline-driven projects
    • A sense of humor and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong team player who can be accountable and flexible
    • Established media contacts in the health, wellness, technology and benefits verticals desired
    • Agency experience preferred
    • Cooperative spirit and positive approach to challenges
    • A personal interest in Viverae’s business of building healthier lives
